Saint Mary’s campus, along with Renown Health and Northern Nevada Medical Center, is now completely tobacco-free. This means that the use of all forms of tobacco is prohibited on the grounds of any of our facilities. As a health care provider, it is our responsibility to protect the health and well-being of our patients and guests; therefore, all staff members, patients, visitors and vendors are asked to comply.
Tobacco use is responsible for thousands of deaths and hospitalizations every year, and the cost to care for tobacco-related illness places a tremendous burden on our nation’s health care system. While we aren’t asking you to quit using tobacco, if you choose to use it, we politely request that you do so in a location that is not within the boundaries of our campus. This includes other Saint Mary’s facilities, too, such as our urgent-care centers, Saint Mary’s Medical Group offices, Saint Mary’s at Galena, Saint Mary’s Health Plans and our community clinics.
If you use tobacco but have considered quitting, Saint Mary’s offers a wide variety of resources:

Nicotine Replacement
Saint Mary’s Gift Shop, located on the first floor of Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center, has a wide assortment of nicotine replacement products (i.e., gum, patches, etc.) available for purchase. Alternately, you may wish to consult with your primary-care physician to determine what tobacco cessation options may suit your particular needs. If you have been admitted to the hospital, please consult your physician before using nicotine replacement.
