Education/Prenatal Classes


Education

Each month, we offer several ongoing educational classes, forums and presentations on a variety of women's health topics. These presentations are designed to inform and educate women about the unique health issues they face. All women are welcome.

Topics for these presentations include:

  • Early Pregnancy
  • Childbirth/Prenatal Care
  • Cesarean Birth
  • Vaginal Birth After Cesarean

These presentations are held at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center. Reservations are required and a nominal fee will be charged. Call (775) 770-7100 for reservations or a list of upcoming presentations.

Prenatal Classes

Saint Mary's offers a variety of classes for new mothers and families. Call (775) 770-7100 for more information or to register.

Prepared Childbirth Course

This course prepares patients for the labor and delivery process, including cesarean birth. This series should be started by the sixth month of pregnancy. An obstetrics services tour will also be given. This six-week course is held from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Call (775) 770-7100 for more information or to register.

Breastfeeding Class

This class is held one Wednesday each month from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Call (775) 770-7100 for more information or to register.

Siblings Classes

The Sibling I (ages 3 to 5 years) portion is presented each month. The Sibling II (ages 6 years and up) portion is also presented monthly. Call (775) 770-7100 for more information or to register.
