American Cancer Society Resource Center

Conveniently located off Elevator C, on the Acute Inpatient Oncology Unit on the third floor of Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center, the American Cancer Society Patient Resource Center offers patients, families and the public current information about cancer, American Cancer Society programs and local community resources.

Volunteers assist visitors in obtaining information about prevention and detection, treatment guidelines and support groups, along with helping them find resources to suit their needs, like wigs, prosthetics, camisoles, hats and more. Those using the resource center will be able to listen to or read pre-recorded personal stories and discussions among survivors and caregivers via the Cancer Survivors Network.

“We believe that our partnership with Saint Mary's has allowed us to better serve cancer patients in the greater Truckee Meadows,” said Vicki Ritchey, American Cancer Society quality of life manager. “Patients and their families have direct and easy access to a variety of onsite resources that they would otherwise have to drive to our office to get.”
